For the Geographically Inclined Bookworm…

Ever want to follow the Pequod  in its hunt for Moby Dick? Or see exactly where the Orient Express is located?

For the geographically inclined, here’s a wonderful interactive site which charts out the courses of famous literary works from Marco Polo’s Voyages to Kerouac’s On the Road with plenty in between.

  1. I used something like this when I read Paul Bowles’ “The Sheltering Sky”, because they were all over Africa in that book and I wanted to know where they were. It was really helpful. I will have to check this out.

  2. The main characters in it are kind of dumbsh*ts, but I would be too if I was on a camel in the middle of nowhere in Northern Africa. 🙂 You should check it out. His descriptions of Africa are so vivid you will feel like you’re there.
